Summer Workshop News!

I just had the privilege of attending a screening of "Bruce!!!", a feature film directed and starring WedRepCo's Eden Marryshow.  This June, Eden garnered Best Director at the American Black Film Festival In Miami, where it screened to a standing ovation.  It was well deserved!  The work is brilliant, unpredictable, and Eden's performance is spectacular.  It was co-written by Jesse Wakeman, who had his own feature in which he starred and co-wrote, "Donald Cried" released earlier this year, to rave reviews.  Cesa Pledger co-stars in, as well as co-produced  "Bruce!!!".  Cesa's short, "Secrets", was also shown.  It is a beautifully written story, dealing with an unexpected outcome of great human loss.  Cesa's performance shines.  "Secrets" was recently invited to the Indy Film Festival.

By the way, a great interview with Eden on the making of "Bruce!!!" can be seen here.  https://shadowandact.com/an-interview-with-director-eden-marryshow-on-the-world-premiere-of-bruce-at-abff-2017

Sasha Gordon has had quite a summer.  After receiving universally amazing reviews for her starring and star making performance in the feature, "Natasha", Sasha co-starred, Off-Broadway in "Terezin", a moving and personal tale of survival in during the Holocaust.

Meredith Rust, Dan Williams, and Tony Scheer, are opening in, "Sandman", at the acclaimed American Theatre of Actors on West 54th Street.

Dana Marisa Schoenfeld recently finished co-starring in film, "Love in Kilnerry", while her film, "Swiped Right" just won Best Short at the New Jersey Film Festival.

Workshop alumnus, Josh Beresford, just booked a co-starring role on season 4 of "Gotham".

Alumnus Julie Christeas, who has previously produced the indie hits, "Wildlike", "Monogamy", "The Eyes of My Mother", "The Sleepwalker", and "Ghost Team" is currently hard at work producing "Bushwick Beats", in and around her native Brooklyn.

I am so proud of the many actors, directors, and writers on the scene who were introduced to, and fell in love with with these disciplines, as a result of entering the Workshop.  To name just few...

Darwin Shaw ("Homeland", "Casino Royal", "The Bible", "Son of God", "Prince of Persia", "John Carter")

Julee Cerda ("Homeland", "House of Cards", "Orange is the New Black")

Michael Cuomo (Star of "Happy New Year" - SXSW Official Selection,  producer "The Light of the Moon")

Mike Ivers ("Gossip Girl", "Blue Bloods", "The Light of the Moon")

Abby Rosebrock (Writer - "Different Animals", "Singles in Agriculture", "Dido in Idaho" )

Amy E. Witting (Writer - "36 Hours", "A Bad Night", "Create Me Pegasus", "G.I. Joe Jared" and many more)

Martin Yurkovic (Star and co-writer of  the award winning feature, "Vamperifica", and co-star of the series, "Long Island Lights")

AJ Scordio (Star and Producer of "Long Island Lights")

There are so many others.  So many who have had the discipline, talent, and drive to have allowed the Workshop to be a springboard to not only their success, but also to follow their dreams and passion.

Prepare for the fall!  There is more to come!!!
